I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

The limit is whatever the "leaders" think they can get away with. That's why they focus on coercing certain individuals into thinking that this is the best they will ever get and they will never survive without a job where they are overworked and underpaid. The “leaders” know that they can’t do the work without the people under them, but they don’t want them to know that.
As long as those workers never realize what they’re worth (what they can negotiate for) and believe the lies from these “leaders”, the same pattern will continue and they will just be used as an example of what it means to be a “good employee”.
Once they realize that, as a collective, they have more leverage than they realize, then things will start change and those in charge will begin to think twice about abusing the people who work for them.

I always find you're expected to do the same level of work, even after people have left, the workload increases with less capable people around...

Eventually all of the garbage that AI generates will catch up to these companies and they will be forced to make a choice: go bankrupt, or acknowledge that adding AI into any workflow just means that you have to spend twice as long combing through the AI's output for lies and misrepresentations than it would have taken without AI at all. AI is a total negative to society in every possible way, with objectively zero benefits, but right now we're stuck with tech-bro CEOs who worship it like a demon cult.
