McKinsey & Company I did my final round with McKinsey today, and I I received a rejection call from the partner today. However, he said I did really great and wants to keep in touch with me. He also mentioned that I should reapply in 6 months. Does anyone have any similar experience? Do I have a better chance if I reapply next time?McKinsey & Company

There is a lot of oil being stored at the moment, and potential to make a lot of money from that spread. However, storage capacity itself is a market, and if you didn’t own it before the oil price crashed, you won’t be able to get it now. Onshore tank storage costs around 60c/bbl/month, but with that gone the next best option is to store on an oil tanker (floating storage), with costs determined by the highly volatile freight market, but usually anywhere between $1.50-$3/bbl/month
Anyone concerned that storage inventories are rising? I imagine people will continue to hold until the bbl rises?
I think we are now at all time highs on crude floating storage - 170mbbl at the mo vs 100 post financial crisis
Just like you said QPM 1, storage capacity itself is a market. Onshore storage seems to be at full capacity, see WTI May future trading in the negatives today. Offshore is getting tight as well. And I'm guessing this won't change anytime soon. I'm definitely long tanker stocks.
Does Kirby have tankers in its fleet? I think they focus on towing vessels. Could still profit but I'm not sure.
Euronav, DHT or Teekay would be a pure play.
You’re right, just tow vessels.
Fixings for VLCCs are way up since march
Seems like Mercuria, Trafi, Glencore and some of the other trading firms have cut back on movement.
Vitol and Glencore probably co-leased one of the two existing ULCCs for storage

Great perspective! I can only imagine marine capacity will begin to tighten up if it hasn’t already. I’m sure their rates will escalate. Kirby could be a good play here.
