In my case, my family is full of mechanical engineers, and most of them have good jobs, that led me to study mechanical engineering and I already have 8 years of work experience.

My college had an introductory level course that exposed us to every kind of engineering they offered. I LOVED the electrical engineering module and I just stuck with it. No regrets here!

Went to school for mechE, got an internship in testing/reliability and another one in measurement technology so basically fell into quality.

Should I just quit the legal field?

I have been a paralegal or legal assistant since 2010. I have worked for small and large firms and a TPA. I've worked in L&E, PI, and ID. Billing hours gave me nightmares. Right now I'm in a hybrid paralegal/LA position where I'm responsible for all of the docketing and supporting the managing partner and 1 associate and their 90+ ID caseload. I make a lot of mistakes everywhere I work. I feel so incompetent. Should I just abandon this career path?

So I have been seeing a guy for 4 months. We have a pay disparity.. he earns less than I do (by quite a bit). He has mentioned a few times that he’s worried I’ll get bored of him when I know he can’t afford the same things I can. I think we are beginning to move past this, but now he’s starting to mention things like ‘I am really broke this month’, and last weekend he told me his mum has lost her job and he’ll have to probably pay her rent. I have a lot of sympathy for his situation … tbc
