Rare to jump from SC to director in industry even if you’re in MBB/T2. More common for tenured Managers (1-2 years in the role) to make that jump unless you have transferable experience in the industry prior to consulting that you’re now exiting to.
Unless you are at a MBB/T2, getting a Director level role for an experienced SC will be hard

If you’re talking about consulting to consulting it will be extremely rare to jump from sc to D. If you’re talking about consulting to industry, yes sc to D is possible
I stayed in consulting. Was probably the right choice. Two promotions and 6 years later my total comp went from $170k to $280k.
They basically offered to meet my comp at the time. I do worry that you can go in at director level and stay director until you retire.
Which industry?
Any tbh
Whats your comp? What are the comps for industry M and SM you’ve seen so far?
Good points C1, thank you!
