Working as a call centre agent means dealing with all kinds of personalities. Just yesterday, a caller opened with, “Are you male or female?” completely irrelevant to his actual concern. When I asked for his name, he said he used to say Donald Trump, but stopped because people reacted oddly. Then, instead of stating his issue, he played the name game, guessing what mine might be similar to. I kept thinking, Sir, what did you even call about? What a call!

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

I had customers tell me how amazing the salads I make for them. It’s great that I can make salads that good!

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip.
