Worth joining a Value Creation team (within Deal Advisory) at a mid tier firm (BDO/GT/RSM)?
-I have 4 YOE in Big 4 External Audit (1.5 at senior)
-Would be coming in with a Senior Consultant title
-Role responsibilities include pre deal strategy (CDD), post merger integration (PMI & ODD), Separation and Carve-out, CFO advisory (strategy, corp fin, finance transformation).
And what would the exit opportunities be? In-house strategy/corp dev/corp fin? PE firms? Pigeon holed? Thanks!

I attended a client interview last week and was selected for the same. Now they are asking to join within a day or two. I'm having my mom's surgery this week. How to safely refuse to join this client project for at least 10 days. I can't take leave for 10 days.

Has anyone ever been asked to stay beyond what they’ve said will be their last day when they give notice? Gave 2 weeks notice yesterday and am now being pressured to stay until one deal I’m on closes (which could slip past the end of next week, which is what I’ve said was my last day).

Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. I’m trying to get a rotation in FDD but my partner is worried about temporarily losing resources in our advisory practice. So, what are some things I could learn in FDD that I could bring back to the advisory practice that might convince the partner to let me go on rotation?
