A bad manager can really destroy you. I don't know if 500 vs 300 is that life changing once you factor in tax, so unless you're financially strapped, I'd trust the team if it's so bad that they're bad mouthing their manager.
Also going to go against A1 and say it's not an easy sell to switch jobs because of your manager. It's dangerous to pin a move on your team/manager, because it risks making you look like you don't play along well with others.

FWIW I turned down a job making 520k to stay at job making 450k bc work is easy, team is good, 99% remote versus other job likely more work, 2 days in office with long commute. Some days I am not sure if I should have just taken the money but I do value my WLB and comfort level and wasnt willing to gamble at the moment
A job paying $450k that’s basically fully remote is virtually mathematically the same as a job paying $520k with an office requirement & long commute.
A job paying $420 that’s remote, easy work and a good team is actually much better than a job paying $520k.
How do you know the WLB, cultures, and quality of the managers to actually differentiate? My inclination is to go with the money and then reevaluate in 6-12 months if it truly, truly sucks. You'll have an easy story to tell if so.
FWIW, I just left an IHC job for another IHC, partly because my GC, whom I directly reported to, was a total lunatic/toxic person. I also was grossly undercompensated, so it made the decision to switch easier once I found an exit option.
I was able to just not interact and avoid interacting with him for the better part of a year (until I left). Not sure if you'll be able to do that, but perhaps.
If I had been making market comp, I would have considered staying, I think. The difference in compensation between these offers would give me pause since they are wildly apart. Any reason you can't keep looking for a third option?

go with the first one, make sure to document everything so that you dont get thrown under the bus
Take option 2 or look for more options.
There are many issues with option 1, including that a toxic manager could poison your ability to move easily to other jobs by giving you a bad recommendation or spreading rumors about you (happened to me and others). If folks there are telling you to avoid the role, I would listen.
Do you know if you would have a great manager at option 2?
