Acc to me they let candidates answer thoughtfully on their own time, which can reduce nerves and scheduling hassles. However, they do miss the real-time back-and-forth that helps assess communication style and adaptability. So I’d use them as a first step but still prefer live interviews before making final decisions.
Absolutely not, or a company that would do them.
I think the back and forth of an ordinary interview provides a lot to assess, and having candidates provide answers on their own time obviously makes that impossible. So unless someone needed that accommodation I wouldn't want to be involved with it. For the vast majority of cases it just wouldn't be very useful.
It’s a reasonable accommodation for some persons.

What kind of situations would this be an accommodating for? Trying to learn more about equity in the hiring process!
In my opinion they are great but not for everyone. This is mainly due to interviews being about cultural norms than anything else

I'd worry that it feels a little too impersonal, almost like having an AI avatar interview you instead of a real person
