It depends—I’d want to know if they’re aware of the gap and working to change it, or if it’s a reflection of deeper issues. Culture and growth potential matter just as much as salary. Sometimes the short-term gain isn’t worth the long-term cost to your sanity.
I’d consider taking it. Someone has to be first. Just be ready to track your achievements and forcefully advocate for yourself. If it doesn’t work ultimately, take your higher pay scale and leave. Agree with other commenter that you might ask about it or do more research first. Also, to fully answer your question we’d need to know the % pay increase you’re getting, not just the $ amount.
So break the proverbial glass ceiling and be the first.
You are highly qualified PROFESSIONAL that a company recognized that your skillset is needed and offering to pay you an annual salary comparable to your abilities, not basing it off of gender. Why are you hesitant to base your decision to take the opportunity on their gender?
By the way, in my experience, it was the other way around.. We can not allow our past experiences to ruin new opportunities for us I am taking my own advice.
If that was my only concern about taking the job, yes I would absolutely take the job then. No point in making less to also do it on your own a lot of the time, right? It’s kind of like you are already doing so much of that anyways, regardless of the headshots, might as well get paid for it. I feel like that only is a positive step, you don’t really know until you get in there though.
Tell them $40k because you want to be in line with the other Senior Leaders (Men) on the team and you’ll take it. Now is the time to advocate for yourself.

That’s a tough call. The pay bump is tempting, but being in a space without representation can be exhausting. It’s definitely worth considering how it might impact your experience day-to-day.
100% absolutely take it. If you're in leadership, why are you allowing yourself to be "talked over", you're obviously not being "looked over" since you're being offered a great position and a huge salary jump. Stop making excuses.
