I’ve noticed vaccine resistance among pet owners is growing and I’m starting to lose the will to educate people who are worried about “canine autism.” How hard do you try to inform the misinformed?

It is curious how far ignorance can go, animals have always been vaccinated to strengthen them and allow their lives to be longer and healthier, but now there is the fashion of not vaccinating animals, it is nothing more than a meaningless fashion. I usually show images of what causes pneumococcus and explain where this disease comes from, but I really can't fight ignorance every day.

As a veterinary assistant, it is usual for me to be the one who speaks with clients. I recently met an anti-vaccine person, he told me that his dog did not need to be vaccinated (he is an 8-month-old golden), I tried to explain to him why it was needed. vaccinate the puppy, but he told me that his children had not been vaccinated either, so I stopped and let him go on his way.

There is a law for the protection of animals, in this law it should be mandatory to vaccinate pets, whether they are common or exotic, vaccinating a pet is necessary to protect the animal and humans as well. I do not treat these types of people, I simply deny them entry to my veterinary clinic.

I studied for 6 years to be a veterinarian and then I spent 3 years specializing in the treatment of domestic animals, I have published scientific documents, I have treated more than 20K animals, and a person who saw a video on youtube or tik-tok has more credulity than me. This speaks of how misinformed a person can be, and how unfortunate. I try not to talk to those kinds of people because those kinds of positions bother me a lot.

I’ve had several times in my life that anxiety peaked but I didn’t need to go on meds. My anxiety is back and stronger than ever. My heart rate is constantly high, I can’t sleep, and have nightmares for weeks now. It literally paralyzes me that I can’t do anything some days. I’m thinking about going to psychiatrist but afraid of being on meds. Anybody here can tell me what is their experience with anxiety medications (advantages, side effects)? Or are there alternatives to meds?

I don’t think that most people they find in the lake went in it willingly. Water makes it too easy to cover up murders. Washes away evidence. But it’s dismissed because most people they found had also been drinking. But people just disappearing miles away from the Lake don’t just fall in it. Yes, suicide happens. But many of these cases show zero signs of anything like that. The constant MO is being out with friends having fun. The friend vanishes. Then is found in the lake weeks later.

What should the reaction be if the vaccines end up only being reasonably effective. Say we end up with a going forward rate of 100,000 dead per year. Or 50,000. Is there a point at which you say you were willing to take the risk and move back to a normal life (gatherings, restaurants, travel, etc.)? Recognizing they lockdowns can temporarily reduce counts, but not eliminate the disease.
