I don't think I'm fully healed, but feeling a lot better compared to when my symptoms started almost a year ago. I now have a mildly sensitive lower back though. My PT gave me a variety of exercises and stretches over the course of a few months but only a handful of things helped. There was this leg rocking thing that always felt good, and some hip stretches but the improvements would dissipate. That lower back area is tough to diagnose since the sciatica starts there and the hips are also a funky spot. Essentially, it's going to be a mix and match of a variety of exercises to treat and improve your herniated disc.
Finding a good PT is key. Sounds like ibuprofen is just treating the symptom. Spend tonight or this weekend looking up some good PTs in your insurance network. I typically use the DPT credential as my first filter and then go from there. They probably won't be able to find the best treatment right away, but will definitely guide you in the right direction. Be patient, or if you don't like your PT, don't hesitate to find another one

Can't remember which disc of mine is herniated but it's around the same area. I did Mackenzie presses as part of my daily stretching routine but a single stretch isn't going to be your cure. Have you seen a PT? What else are you doing?

@C1 no i havent. i saw a pain management specialist a month ago, told me to take ibuprofen and it worked like a charm. after 2 weeks, the discomfort came back. So are you now fully healed just from the PT sessions?

thanks C1 - super helpful. last question, how long have you had this?

Not sure when I exactly herniated my disc since I had no traumatic incident to my knowledge. I had a sore butt that kept nagging me after a day of skiing (no falls that day) right after Christmas last year, which prompted me to go see a PT and physiatrist and finally get an MRI on my back.
I would actually go see a physiatrist first and get their opinion and referral to a PT in the area. My physiatrist wasn't a surgery-practicing doctor, so keep that option open too.
I discovered just about 2 months ago that the best medicine for me is to just walk around lol

Hi all,

I just got a job with Delta airlines and I had an accomodation request to work remotely as I am Immunocompromised. I provided all the neccesary documents to back up my request and letters and documents from my Dr. aswell. My request was denied because the team said they wanted me to have face time and one on one interactions with people from other team (which defeats the purpose of my request) because I have to limit those interactions to reduce the risk of infection. What do I do?

Phone addiction. I truly feel like I have one now and I hate it. Is anyone feeling the same or possibly improved your phone addition? I am constantly on my phone and my usage is averaging 5.5 hours per day. I wake up to my phone and it's the last thing I see before bed. On it between meetings and any moment that I don't have to be focused. I will say that my phone doesn't get touched when I'm with people. Almost at all. It is a cycle of insta, snap, and FB. With LinkedIn and this in between.

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

I am scheduled to fly from NYC to Mumbai via Paris next Wednesday (Jan 5) for a ~10 day trip. Have any of you, your family, friends, etc. flown a similar route (I.e. from US to India via Europe) in the past week? If so, what is the arrival process (Covid test, quarantine requirements, etc.)? I’ve had all recommended vaccine shots and I’m only in Paris for a 2 hour layover (not leaving the airport). Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!
