It just seems wild to post one liners and memes on LinkedIn between the monologuing about AI and the pleas for work.
Don’t get me started on the people making ad comedy content for ad people. Like some sort of twisted court jester in the boardroom.
100%. Like, if I had a job, I would NEVER log on to LinkedIn. I am there for rent money. That’s it.

Very off brand of Linkedin. We must stay consistent to its identity.
I think LinkedIn is just a bunch of performative posting to push themselves up the algorithm at this point. There's no more value there. It's every one going there and commenting on every one else's content in an effort to "build your brand" in the future for when we all inevitably will be related at some point. We're on a weird death spiral where we're all either unemployed or we're preparing to be unemployed.
I get that it’s hard for some people to work from home, or especially sterile for those of us job searching all day from home, and it’s probably nice for the posters to drop some hot air/get some likes, just to feel alive. But for real, some of us are legit there for the last minute gig postings. And sometimes I will see a post flow in that’s two hours old. But my eye balls have been there nearly all day, but the long winded, self congratulatory self promo posts obstructed my view.
I will say, I do love reading Ray Connolly’s posts. But he is a great writer.
Has anyone else seen an influx of more personal LinkedIn posts like family pics and recaps of people’s weekends? It seems like some of my connections are treating LinkedIn like Facebook and I’m NOT into it.
Cannot stand people posting about their political views on LinkedIn. Isn’t that what Meta is for?

Btw, I'm not badmouthing performative posts on LinkedIn. I get it. Sometimes we all have to perform to make a buck. But, I do blame the platform for what it has become. I used to love LinkedIn and have really lost interest in it in the last 6 months and it feels like it's getting worse.

It’s cringe but I know it helps me stay visible. I’m freelance so if I’m not working I’m starving.
And going crazy. Starving and crazy is not a good look for me.
