How much should I contribute to a 401k?
I've had a hybrid role for the past 4 years where I get unlimited sick days (well 14 really until fmla kicked in), 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days. I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. Seems tough.

Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.
Bain & Company My 13 YO is taking Career and Tech. She is dead set on diving for Michigan. What are her chances of getting hired from MBB with a degree from UM? Or would she need her MBA first? Is a Michigan degree good enough to get you into a top MBA program?

Treating your work like an MBB engagement. Not everyone is as sharp or moves as fast. Pushing people too much can make enemies and hamper growth.
There is a refined level of pace that you can bring without overbearing teams
Lol. Or, not every way of doing knowledge work is designed around the idea of rapid unnecessary iterations, artificial urgency, and the need to appease leaders (ie partners) that actually know very little about the topic.
Some “strategy work” is designed to be intentionally slower, more analytical, etc. I’ve found that my former MBB colleagues often need to readjust to this different way of working.
MBB engagements are designed to intentionally burn out their teams and deliver in a short period of time because of the contractual / monetary incentives. Biz / corp strategy or advisory teams often do not have the same incentives, nor would frankly benefit from such a model.

I should personalize this more too, I guess. What about failure modes relating to personal effectiveness? I've done decently well at Bain, good performance reviews, etc.
But I've hopped around a lot of industries and specialties, do a decent enough job directing work and helping team think through, action, refine; but I'm not great at going zero to one on a blank scope necessarily, and without domain expertise feel like that could hamper me
