Not OW but I found my MBB case interviews easier than the t2 interviews actually. The topics could be a bit more abstract, but it felt a lot more structured than what I faced at t2 if that makes sense

I found OW interviews to be quite aligned with the bio of the interviewer. So read those, that should hint at what to expect. Also found the process to be longer, 5-6 interviews instead of only 3 with MBB (plus online assessment).

At OW now and recently got into MBB as an EH (so I have some perspectives).

By and large they’re the same - wouldn’t over index on interview vs. candidate led (I’m not sure why anyone does this because you should always be taking the initiative to push the thinking during the case and let the interviewer course correct you if need be - yes even for McKinsey).

Main difference is maybe that my OW interviews were more straightforward in terms of problem type (profitability, market entry, cost reduction) than MBB but not more difficult or easier.
