I’ve been looking for a book that touches on life in America during the Vietnam war. The protest movement, pentagon papers, rock and roll. Impartial to fiction or non-fiction.

I’d like to learn more about this time in American history, but also not looking for something super dry or anything that reads like a text book.

I can’t seem to find the right book after googling around, are there any recommendations?

I received a job offer from a PI firm (MVA and tractor trailer cases) in Houston, Texas; the bonus proposed was 2.5% of attorney’s fees for any cases settled each quarter. We are assigned 50 cases a quarter and the top attorney clears $25K each quarter. This is my first time working at a PI firm. Can anyone share any guidance? Is 2.5% industry standard? Is it realistic to settle/resolve that many cases? I am trying to learn more about this niche before I counter-offer and attempt to negotiate.

Recently started my own firm and interested in others thoughts. Are there resources out there for practical advice or is it only something that comes with experience? For example, I can take let's say a 601A client and use the resources available to me to learn how to do it. Any sci-fi fans here? I recently read this book - blindsight. Absolutely delightful! It's one of those hard sci-fi novels and I'll be honest i didn't understand about 25% of all the concepts.. but even with that, it was soooo good!
