Anybody know why there appear to be so many open positions at Fenwick and West? Comments on the culture, work/life balance, diversity, etc.?
I need some advice on my next steps after being laid off. It’s a bit complicated but for 5 month out of this past year I was forced to give up my billable hours in order to help “load balance” our team. I went from billing 100% to 58% (safe zone). Billable hours were given to other team members who didn’t have work. This was designed to help average out hours to prevent layoffs. I agreed to do this but felt it was unethical and would affect my performance review. How would you approach HR?
What’s your effective hourly wage? Example: $300K, but you work 80 hours and have 3 weeks vacation. 80 hours x 49 weeks = 3920 hours. Take $300K / 3920 = $76.53 / hour.
On layoffs: really funny how no one in leadership was blamed, people who they need to get stuff done were sacked and there was no conversation on how the company can change to navigate the market.
Anyone scared the EY will do mass layoffs? Even though they have come out and said no. Thoughts ..

Does the CFA help with exit options to the buy side from MBB? I understand it’s less valued in PE, but what about HF/AM? Or helpful with actual project work? Starting soon, have 1, can’t decide on 2
what is tax staff 1 compensation in general? looking to possibly transfer into indirect tax. Currently in an Audit position in the NE.
Total newbie. Today the same work that took me 5 hours to complete took 1.5hr for a coworker. I’m keep seeing this pattern on different kinds of work, from research to formatting. And I‘m definitely not a perfectionist.. I don’t know what the issue is and how to be faster. Since we’re remote, its hard to gauge how others are working. Did anyone go through this?
