I have an initial recruiter phone interview with Square Thursday. Is it it just a phone call or is it a video call and they didn’t specify. If it’s a video call what’s the dress code like? I’m coming from consulting so all my interviews were in suits. Any tips to get past the recruiter phone screen?

I left EY at M2 with 8 YOE for kpmg for slightly less than your Deloitte offer, which is very solid. Take the D.

Amazon WLB is bad. This is not a mixed opinion. It’s objectively bad. The reason they changed the stock vesting to 4 years is bc people were burning out and quitting. I know at least 2 people who had mental/stress-induced breakdowns by working there.
Yeah I heard this as well. My friend lasted 2 years before quitting Amazon media group (a better WLB group for the most part)
Better WLB at Amazon? Anyways, doesn’t seem compelling at all.
Beat me to it. WLB will be an issue for both jobs.
If anything, I would take the Deloitte offer and work there for 1 year. Then look for exit opps if you don’t like it. At least then you’re starting from a higher base salary.
Considering that option as well, or the other way round. Work for Amazon for a year and switch after a year to another Tech or back to Consulting.
I’m surprised you’re at an L5. L6 is the mba level

That base comp is insane for an L5 (but I’m on business side- so if this is tech, then I get it)
Questionable WLB at AMZN but YMMV
Duck we are getting 160 here as M2 in Deloitte
I’m at 163, M2 EH w/MBA. I wish I was at 210
1. Join Amazon (this is not even a debate)
2. Spend two years
3. Watch all other letters of FAANG running after you
4. Hop over to one of them
You will never have this choice in two years if you join Deloitte. It’s about how you are setting yourself up for future!
Wanted to share what I saw here today:
For all Deloitte folks who I unintentionally instigated, this is one of the Tech pillars. Cant share more specifics.
I think so tooo
What group in Deloitte?
Update: thanks FB fam for all the feedback/ comments. Deloitte offer was definitely tempting, but I decided to take Amazon offer.
Main reason being AWS experience to open other opportunities in the future. I always have the consulting doors open in the future.
DM in case of any questions.
Congratulations 🎈🍾

I think it depends on the work you'd be doing - it'll be starkly different in consulting versus industry (regardless of whether it's amazon or anything else). Otherwise, for the experience and quals these are fantastic offers
Definitely think critically about AWS. Many gates open after AWS experience.
Amazon is the top best companies to work as per FORBES, thin about it
This person must be in tech strategy, no way other offerings are getting a 210 base
Specific ERP roles can get super hot if there is a high demand in the market place. Not a lot of people can perform at a manager level on a workday implementation
Cute that you think Amazon will be better WLB
Definitely take Deloitte. We’d be Deloitted to have you!
What group in Deloitte? Inquiring minds want to know
Quite high for Deloitte M, yoe/offering?
Do you have a MBA?
Nope
Update: thank you all for the feedback and comments. I had another call with Amazon HR. AWS is not negotiating on the level or pay. I think Deloitte offer is reasonable too. Will have to make a decision by tomorrow, keep you all posted.

The money is alluring at D but you have the oppty to move into different functions with AMZN right? That may be a better play. AMZN opptys are hard to come by whereas D is slightly easier.
Is CSM - customer success?
Customer Solutions Manager, yes.
