A new Sr. Manager recently joined my team, and for whatever reason thinks that my initiative (where I am the official lead), wants me to check in with her constantly about it, as she thinks it’s part of her overarching role.

I recently joined a firm doing general lit. The position was marketed as a match to my skill set. I’m doing nothing related my strengths and I’m languishing intellectually and professionally. In 12 months I’ve gone from loving law to wanting to quit the law altogether. I don’t have a book at all because my network consists of broke millennials and the pandemic makes it hard. Looking to exist Salesforce due to “Comp Throttling”. Even with promotions every year (2) exiting looks to increase OTE by 80-120% (3YOE)I have offers from Hubspot and a Saleforce partner for CS. Partner Is 18% higher OTE, with a much larger workload and worst WLB.

Anyways, the pay was intriguing and the job was a high level scientific advisor so I did interviews. At the last interview, at the end I was told the job was for management but I prepared for a different kind of interview. I am waiting for an offer or rejection letter. Hopefully, I haven’t screwed myself over..so I get a call for a job and they initially offer $62k with a $1000 sign on bonus, I countered at 65k bc I knew I deserve more pay but I was afraid to actually ask for much more than that. They verbally accepted my counter offer but have yet to send me a written offer I can sign. I completed research on the position and salary for my area and realized I aimed low. I countered again at 72k. Was I wrong?
