A valuable lesson I have learned lately is to be content where you are. I have been wanting life to be different for a while but I finally looked in the mirror and realized I am so happy in this job which is something I haven't had in years. What have you learned in your career lately?

That's a great metaphor. Looking back I definitely see how set backs propelled me forward.

I am grateful to be where I am. My salary is good. My coworkers are wonderful. We have resources here like color copiers and laminators that I know are not available in other districts. My commute is easy. So far this year, my class has been great. I have learned throughout my career that one can look for the negatives or look for the positives. Every school system has pros and cons. There are challenges no matter where you work. Your attitude about all of it makes the biggest difference in the world! Find the positives and your days seem better. That is what I have learned to embrace! Gratitude and looking for the positive things.

I’m looking at lessons with a pro. They offer packs of 30 min (6-pack) and 60 min (3-pack) sessions. Is there a benefit to one over the other? Is 30 too short or 60 too long?

I’ve never taken lessons before, just played my whole life. I’m a mid 80s golfer trying to get more consistent and break into the high 70s.

SOS I’m a first year teacher. I’m at a VERY challenging school district & a different culture than I’ve ever been around before. I cant get through a full day’s lesson! I spend more time disciplining!

High school special class (self-contained) teachers: What do you use for planning? I’ve always been an inclusive teacher, so I followed the plan book of my co-teacher. I can’t even decide if I should go digital or paper-based let alone make a final decision! I’ll be teaching 9-11th grade math and 11th grade science. The 11th grade classes I can very much do whatever I (or the student) want/need…there isn’t a set curriculum

Just closed on my first apartment and want to check on tipping etiquette for home owners in NYC so I can budget. I have a 400 sq ft studio in a ~80 unit building in Gramercy. There is a staff team of 8-9 people. How much should I plan on tipping around the holidays? I’ve heard that owners usually tip more than renters but not sure by how much.

So, this is a little awkward, but I recently moved to SD for a fresh start, and honestly, I love this city. My problem is I have been more of a homebody since I moved here and I'm a little intimidated to go out and meet people because I don't feel like I fit in here. I am overweight and this city is full of active, and attractive people. I guess I am wondering what my experience would be if I got out more? I feel like people look at me when I'm in public because I stand out due to my size.
