San Diego is great, but if I had to pay current housing prices I might think it overrated too...
Definitely overrrated in some ways, but really nothing beats living in Cali on the beach
I was born and raised here so I'm biased but I love this place - it has changed a lot though, and not necessarily for the better
I’ve lived other places, but nothing beats San Diego. It has it all! Great weather, great restaurants, beautiful, the beach, cool ppl, not too much traffic comparatively. There’s no place better.
It depends on your values really. If you don’t mind living a crappy life, from a material standpoint, in exchange for lovely weather/scenery then it’s not overrated. If you would like to live in material comfort and don’t mind having not great weather, then it’s obviously overrated.
It's overrated if you aren't by the coast imo, especially taking into account the CoL. Amazes me all the people who live here but don't go to the beach. Why live here then?
It’s overrated.
I am from the east coast and the ppl are different. I enjoy talking politics, sports, life. They just chill.
Not many jobs either. Diversity issues too unless you are East Asian or Hispanic.
Get along really well, actually. I just get bored sometimes…
Eh...I agree with the comments above. It is a little bit overrated if I am being honest. The housing and rent prices are just ridiculous.
I think other cities big cities have the same rent pricing but don't offer you all the outdoor options that SD can offer you. It all depends on what you value more. I am a big fan of San Diego.
I don't think its overrated. I have lived here about a year now and I really love it.
Pro
definitely for the easily impressed
