Also, don’t ignore them and don’t use phrases like when ‘my team gets here.’ If you’re replacing folks or teams w/o giving anyone a chance, just do it when you land - give everyone a severance and don’t drag it out for weeks or months. That’s just cruel and unnecessary.

I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Any thoughts or advice going into this?

I got offer from XYZ company, but my current company ABC had a call with me and had me stay in the current company. They offered me same offer which XYZ offered. But they officially didn't give any offer letter but they said you will get revised salary in march month. But I didn't receive revised salary.
