Alcohol brands were among the first to acknowledge Pride, but I’m not sure it was a good thing. LGBTQIA folks were more prone to alcoholism in the past (I’m not sure if that still holds true, but it did in the 90’s and early aughts).
Absolut Vodka had a long run of marketing to the LGBTRQ+ community.
Some of the reduction in alcohol ad spend toward LGBTQ audiences is specifically because a lot of things that were LGBTQ niche are now mainstreamed and focused again on people out of the community. This is only one, very specific example, but there's a reason why Absolut is no longer sponsoring RPDR, and it's not because they don't WANT to, it's because the teenage hetero girl demo has overtaken the actual LGBTQ demo on the show.
