Hi Team,
Hope you guys are doing well. I am planning to join Kyndryl on band 7b for cybersecurity domain. Want to know how is the environment there in terms of job security, wlb and hike? There are mixed reviews all over the places reg Kyndryl so posting here to get insight form you.Kyndryl Inc.
Also anything else you would like to add is good for me to decide as I have to choose between Accenture and Kyndryl (I was with Accenture and know what I will be getting and work there).
Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. There must be a way to spare 30 minutes to eat dinner with your partner? Sure not every night but that should be the exception.
I published a similar post to this in another bowl! My workload since quarantine layoffs is insane - i work 6/7 days a week from early in the am to late at night. So I definitely feel this! :(
I’ve started blocking off 30min increments in my calendar as meetings, where i take a break and spend some time with my partner.
I think I just need to force it.
If I was able to force this way of working, I can force it back to normal.
I just feel like I can't win but I guess this is the reason it's called a rat race.
Yeah that may be the best course of action, but carving out time is also difficult (not trying to diminish your issue)!
Aye, it's all setting boundaries with yourself, partner and work. Easier said than done, but when you get there boy it's nice.
It'll be a slow process but, and I hate to say it, it's all about managing expectations.
You got this. Just take 5 for you too. Whether that's while you brew coffee or a quick zip around the block to get some air.
Right now you're framing the problem as "my partner doesn't like the long hours." Instead, ask yourself why work is demanding these long hours, and address THAT as the problem.
Yes, you need to work hard, but it's also unreasonable to think that to succeed, you have to sacrifice parts of your life, and most of all your partner. Free yourself from the mentality that you HAVE to give things up to do well.
Get comfortable with saying things like "I'm offline after 7pm but happy to jump on things in the morning" or "I'm unavailable this weekend but I can take a look Sunday night" or "This timeline isn't realistic, but here's what we can do."
Be helpful and polite and nice and show that you want to do the best work possible, but also set boundaries because working on shit at 9pm after skipping dinner with your partner sure isn't leading to great work either.
yessss this 👏
