After spending 7–8 years in consulting, I suddenly find myself constantly thinking about preparing for UPSC.
Not sure if it’s burnout, the search for more meaningful work, or just curiosity about a completely different path but the thought keeps coming back.

Two kids under 5, I am putting in a large lump sum in their 529s to (hopefully) mean the kids are set for full tuition, room, board, etc. at at least a state school. Aside from not having that money more liquid to tap into if needed, what downside may I not be considering? I assume the money growing there is as good as the money growing in my brokerage account and I get tax benefits. 12mo emergency savings on hand as well, so do not think I need the additional cash available to me.

I have got Pre hire survey 10 days back from D (requesting for payslip upload and CTC sheet upload) but I haven't heard back anything after that from them. I have a joining into accenture in next 10 days.

Am I being still considered by D (if not I will atleast join acc) , if so how long it will it take from Pre hire survey to offer release usually in D (for consultant position ) ??
