My sister’s boyfriend was fairly successful at a call center a few years ago but has only worked low wage jobs since. Any steady job would be a step up. My current employer wants 2+ YOE in a “professional environment” for the BDR role, which would likely be a barrier even with a referral.

I’m currently actively interviewing. I had a second round with my top company on Monday and it felt good and I haven’t heard back. I emailed the recruiter on Monday and followed up today but haven’t heard back. There’s apparently another round. I’m expecting an offer tomorrow from another company, and gave a final round with another company on Friday. I really want the top company but I’m concerned with the lack of communication. Is there anything else I can do? Should I let this go?

I use worked at Crossmedia, they over compensate with perks to hide their lack or organization. Be careful of the people that smile and laugh in your face because they are the ones calling you names behind your back. I had to leave because it was such a bad vibe especially hearing my Director calling people idiots and other distasteful names.

Is the workload and overall stress the same for non-tech roles in FAANG vs Non-FAANG companies? I work for a FAANG company and am stressed out and kind of miss just going to work and clocking out a 5 and not thinking about work. It’s been a while since I worked in non FAANG since my early career years so I’m not sure if things are different nowadays with technology and competition changing over the years.

There's collective bargaining by the engineering team about what tasks they take on (Grooming / Sprint Planning ~ Contracts).
There's regular feedback and round tables to see how to improve things (Retros ~ Union meetings).

I love love love working at Microsoft, but my team just changed leadership and I HATE the new manager. Do I think about changing jobs? I don't know how long I can handle them.

Why are we still doing coding challenges? We all know nearly every engineer/developer is using stackoverflow (copy/paste code and switch up somethings) or watching that YouTube tutorial. Honestly, there thousands of examples of doing the same thing and we have platforms that check for ‘cheating’. The process needs to change, seriously.

I have an offer from Capgemini and I have my H1-B transfer approved. After I resigned and told my manager about it, asked me if I wanted to stay back. Initially I said no, but agreed to stay if they match. today told me they ready to match the hike with what I'm getting there over 30%. I'm just in a mix. Capgemini has spent money on me filling transfer petition and premium and I'll be feeling guilty to ditch them. At the same time my manager in current company has done everything. Wat shud I do @
