They sound like they are ready for upper management, lol. I definitely disagree. Pretty much everybody I know is maxed out on how much work they can handle in their workplace. It seems like we're all being forced to do more than ever. Wear more hats, take on more responsibilities.
Hahaha they do! But totally agree with you
Massively disagree, I hope your coworker doesn't come close to a managerial role if that's their attitude. Most of the people I know are routinely putting in 45-50+ hour weeks and we can all only wear so many different hats at one time. Understaffing is a legitimate problem, stop pretending it isn't.
I fear they are aiming for management eek
Agency or Factory?
Agency
Pfff! Sounds like your coworker has an extremely corporate mindset. Like, “we have to save money on overhead, so let’s make our current team work the jobs of two or three people and only pay them the salary of one person… if that!” Company’s need to properly staff for their needs and compensate these employees fairly for the work they do, it’s not complicated.
Totally, a profit over people mindset
I work for a Fortune 500 and I definitely know people just ‘camping out’. I think the economy benefits from more jobs and more people working though. I think good managers know the difference between maximizing their current team vs needing to grow thier team.
Bleh I wish we could all have benefits and work life balance haha
