My law firm mentioned that they filed my h1b petition under Consular notification. Does that mean I can travel abroad even without having a decision on my H1b? PS- my h1b is not yet approved
I have a heavy career choice I need to make. Would love your input, pretty please. I'm a MC now. The travel and the constant, change in clients and underpaid salary compared to peers is too much.....
Chewing like a cow and smacking and popping gum are the sounds I got to enjoy on my flight by the consultant next to me. I feel like I am back in the 8th grade
Are airlines extending the expiration dates on vouchers? I have $400 in AA vouchers expiring in a month and I prefer to not travel. Any recommendations / loopholes would be much appreciated!
Best Tokyo spg hotel for leisure? I’m 24/M going with some buddies looking to have a fun time. Big into drinking and getting tables. Can’t decide between Tokyo Marriott vs Westin Tokyo vs Moxy
Has anyone been invited to UAs Classified @EWR? Is it for Global Services or do 1K get the invite too?
Has anyone used points for a hotel stay and has tried to get some of those points back due to unsatisfactory service?
What to do when you asked for upgrades and staff claims that the hotel is fully booked but you checked in the app that deluxe rooms and all the suites are available for the same dates? I’m SPG Plat100
Hey AA Concierge Key peeps...it’s that time of year again, did you get renewed? Come share your profile and EQD levels, etc., and let ya know if you are in for 2018! Bowl: pvest
Any advice for asking for a status match from United? Thursday was the nail in the coffin for my relationship with American Airlines.
Don’t fly aa. If you have status you can do status match on other airlines. American Airlines is cancelled or delayed 9 straight times out of lga now
That feel when Air Canada doesn't offer a direct flight from YTZ so you need to schlep to Pearson :(
Considering renting my condo on airbnb M-R while I travel. Does anyone have experience doing this? I’m single and my condo is my primary (and only) residence...
Just flew UA49 from BOM to EWR. I flew Emirates from EWR to BOM (connection in DXB) to there. HUge difference in service with Emirates compared to UA. I wish I could fly Emirates domestically!
Put more money into the market. Fed will not raise rates in 3 years. No where we late to put sideline money now. More money will rush into money in the short term 12-36 months
I’m being let go. It came as a surprise because my time with the company I’ve gotten positive feedback. A couple of weeks ago my boss told me that I was being put on a 30 day performance review plan. The last 2 weeks I’ve gotten positive feedback about improvement but on Thursday my boss decided to cut the review plan short and give me an end date. Since I’ve been there <1 year I’m getting 2 weeks severance. Is there room for severance negotiation? A friend in HR (not ad) told me I should ask.
S&O M with an offer for SM at competitor for 25% more base and large sign on. Worth having a comp conversation with D? I’m slightly left of middle of the MBA M band. New offer is at market for SM1.
What is the most cutthroat consulting firm out of the Big Four? I'm sure MBB are the most cutthroat but just Big Four
Some of these posts are ridiculous. They’re like just exited consulting to FAANG/Niche Startup with $150k base and $400k TC with 6 months of experience, you can do it too! Then they ghost or explain that they are a former SWE 😬 coming from MBB. Going to some super Niche role that people with crazy backgrounds are recruited for. Congrats, but not everyone has that background
How do you approach asking senior managers/directors/partners about writing recommendation letters? I'm applying to law school in the fall and I need some. For what it's worth I'm a second year staff at a mid-size firm, have had good reviews the entire time/known as a high-performer in my office, and I've worked directly with everybody I'm planning on asking. However, none of them know that I'm planning on applying.
I have a Senior Analyst role in my team at Sabre in Southlake, TX. We have just adopted a work from anywhere policy. You must be based in the USA for employment law reasons. https://jobs.sabre.com/job/Southlake-Senior-Analyst-Strategy-&-Biz-Ops-TX-76092/674635400/?locale=en_US
Finally watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix. It didn’t say anything that we didn’t already know about social media and big tech, but it’s still alarming and worth the watch. The biggest question I have after watching is why do people still romanticize FAANG? Is just purely the money and prestige? Are we selling our soul for a highly regarded exit opportunity? Just curious.
Considering a change from Deloitte Canada to Slalom in US - any feedback from folks who’ve made similar changes, or advice on interviewing with Slalom?
Thoughts on whether Chicago st Patty’s this weekend will be any different with the covid situation?
Amex platinum: With COVID, has anyone recently gotten them to waive the annual fee? I plan to call soon as my anniversary is coming up in a few days
Feeling blah. Got an offer and turned it down (I wouldn’t have taken), and told this other company that I got an offer, which resulted in the recruiter speeding up my 2nd interview. After the interview, they said that they’d need another interview and to speak to my refs before going forward, and that if I have an offer, they don’t want me to hold me back from taking it. Mind’s kind of in a jumble after this long process. Thoughts from my fellow fish?
I have a PhD, but damn does an MBA not seem fun and useful for networking. Has anyone gone after PhD and a few years of consulting?
Why does everyone hate indexed annuities? Who would turn down the potential of 12% annual returns with a guarantee that they can't lose any money, all for free and even a bonus?
