When is a 3 page resume acceptable?
AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

Anecdotally, where are these people supposedly exiting to exactly ?
I’m one of them too
I'm getting the sense that people are expecting a year of chaos and uncertainty. But I'm not getting that people are planning to exit. It's not that they're happy, but the the job market isn't exactly welcoming. I assume people are resigned to trying to hold on to whatever job they have for the foreseeable future.
It’s definitely something I’ve been noticing too! A lot of people are already looking for the exit after bonuses are paid, especially with how stretched teams are right now. It feels like a lot of us are just waiting for the right moment to move on, and the tension is definitely building.
Don’t exit is all I can say. I left a company 18months ago due to shady dealings…and then found the market in shambles. Still focusing on finding my next home.
It is always a concern at payout time.
This question is like a horoscope in that anybody can read it and say: "Why yes, of course this applies to me.".
Culture is dynamic. It always shifts. Sometimes macro, sometimes micro. Tech culture is spineless and soulless. Uncaring, Cold, and Clinical. Husks of human beings posing as altruists. There is a higher rate of people realizing this due to the amount of information shared on social media and the internet as a whole. When people begin to value companies the same way companies value them, you get people exiting as soon as a higher bidder appears. Perhaps this occurs as an individual leaving after receiving a bonus payment. People value companies less, companies have mass lay-offs to appease the investors, and then people get stretched thin. Nothing-jobs vanish, leet-code experts job-hop and thrive, and companies collapse.
This could be called chaos, or it can be called the natural cycle of capitalism.
I've given up on utilizing any of my skills or experience in my current industry and others.
Sooooo many competitors.
Looking at moving to a completely different industry where corporate politics have no say and has some kind of social responsibility.
Military or environmental crisis management look pretty good.
