Obviously GMAT. Great recommendations. Have a story for what you’ve done and what you want to do. Be normal / interesting / passionate in your interview etc.
How was your undergrad GPA?
Join one acre fund or clinton health access for two years
What you need is a good GMAT, good GPA, a good story about what you’ve done and what you want to do, and the ability to adequately communicate said story.
Tie the story goals the program capabilities. If you were going to booth, you could say that you want to bring data into public sector. Or if u want to Kellogg, then how you can enhance brand awareness
Also meeting ad directors and students and getting their recommendation really helps
UG GPA 3.67
You’ll have to crush the GMAT, and have a compelling post-MBA story. Getting into top 10 MBA programs is no joke. I know people with 3.9s and 730s get rejected from places like Carnegie Mellon, Duke, etc. so don’t underestimate the effort of getting into a top program. Put in the work
Will lots of post UG experience compensate for my GPA?
Your gpa is fine, but not great relative to competition. Experience can help, but remember everyone else has that too. You need to tie your experience to a unique story of what you are building towards. Killing the GMAT will help a lot.
Yeah, you can’t do much to change your work experience or your UG gpa, which is good, so don’t worry about that. Heed Bain1’s advice. Story is king
Thanks everyone this has been really helpful
Why this school,
Why mba,
What next,
What will I bring,
What’s different about my experience,
Plus all the other questions

Be memorable. Admissions staff read lots of canned essays from statistically similar candidates. Try to include in your application something that you are passioned about or that you feel distinguishes you from the pool of applicants.
