One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Hi, I was curious if anyone had any jobs or companies that had a position with a mix of consulting/healthcare/pharmaceutical. I currently work in clinical operations and research, and would love to jump or learn into a tech side company with pharmaceutical exposure. Not sure if these are out there but figured I’d see!

What questions should senior associates be asking to get a better assessment of partnership prospects? For context, I’m eligible this year as an 8th year, but it’s more common to make it around years 10-11 at my firm (only equity partners), and I’m trying to determine whether to stick around or lateral before I’m too senior. I’m in a smaller group that historically promotes only one new partner every few years, and there are several others also eligible. Any questions I should avoid asking?

I will start managing the sales team I’m part of and transition from being a peer to becoming their manager. Any advice on how to make this change as smooth as possible?

Wanted to decline an offer (which I had accepted earlier) stating location contraint, but now they have given location of my choice.Still I don't want to join.

How should I deal with company in this scenario.

Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?

Can someone explain the difference between FB’s Partner Solutions Manager and the Strategic Partner Manager? From an initial recruiter call, it seems the SPM provides the consultative product recs while the PSM onboards the client onto that product and tracks performance to provide actionable recs as needed. Anyone know career growth and salary for these two? I don’t want a sales heavy/only lateral growth role like their client solutions manager roles so these seem like good compromises?

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!
