Any dbt experts here? I'm taking over some complicated models from contractors, talking 1000+ lines of sql, with numerous case when statements and window functions to categorize financial accounts by specific years and accounting books for complex business logic. Is SQL the best solution within dbt? Should I template the logic in jinja? I come from a python background and find manipulating dataframes more straightforward but not sure if it defeats the purpose of the tool

Anyone know of an alternative to StackOverflow for asking tech questions? The community is super toxic and I'm looking for a place I can casually ask questions that might seem dumb without being hrangued for not providing an essay proof of the research I've already done.
