So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Varies by IA’s function: some groups will still have busy season, some groups do all operational/ process improvement work, some is all SOX, some do external auditor assistance (basically work as an external audit staff for part of the year). Varies widely by company and type of IA group, but generally less strenuous than public accounting.
Maybe.
IA typically has responsibilities of SOX control testing, if not outsourced. So it’s a mini busy season.
But no month end close.
All depends on client/company. I was stuck doing SOX 99% of the time, so I hated it.
From an IA of an insurance company: we do smal projects here and there, “busy time” is aso before 10k issuance since we support external auditors. (Busy as in leaving around 7-8 for 2 weeks, strictly no weekends- thats unacceptable!)
