Tableau and PowerBI are my personal fav. Clients with Microsoft ecosystem like PowerBI as they can just log in with their email to view dashboards
Agreed. Works well with most enterprise clients that I’ve seen so it’s my personal fav. Also cheaper than tableau in terms of licenses, and you can integrate power bi into powerapps if clients need that

My job is typically to make things trend down. Downward trend = lower price or an identified risk. Rarely do I give good news.
You want to be fair but management is presenting the business in the rosiest light ever so it would be rare for you to align with their view.

Considerations are:
- Cost
- Ease of use
- Security
- User management and licensing
- Functionality
- Aesthetics
I’m looking at GoodData right now as it is easy to get up and running. Definitely need to do my homework on this but a cursory review indicates that it checks many of the boxes (not sure on functionality).

Tableau for scalability. From a solo consultant to the F10 - its scalable. It empowers the end user at different levels - from the c-suite to the power user to the layman.

What tool is the client using? It’s best to develop on the same platform as them. Also, are you working on client laptops? Just transferring Tableau and Power Bi files to them is not a good solution. Ideally you either host these dashboards on an internal firm server which allows external users access or a server on the client’s side.

Well if I was going to use what the firm has I wouldn’t be hanging my own shingle to speak.

That unfortunately doesn’t work in a cdd timeline. I like that idea for longer projects.
Power BI, wrapped in a custom portal so clients can whitelabel their reporting.
I've used both Power BI and Tableau extensively and this solution beats either of their web experiences. I actually do this for several personal clients under my own corporation, they pay flat rate for new reports, hourly for ongoing CRs and improvements, and quarterly for licensing/hosting costs.

Seems like that is more of an enterprise solution.
PowerBI for its ease of use and easy connections with MS ecosystem. PRO is all hosred by Microsoft, so ifnra concerns are almost non-existent. Plus it's not mature yet and they release new, great shit almost monthly
