You might want to negotiate higher! In london is difficult to live alone for less than 50k monthly
On that salary in London you will struggle to send half back to your family. You might have to budget more for rent unless you live far out. Apart from that, £40k is decent at entry level for your role. Good luck
Entry level graduate roles at Deloitte are £38k. I’m struggling to live on that and don’t have any dependents (do have debt but not enough that it should impact my quality of life on a reasonable salary). So:
1. That’s a major lowball offer if you’re experienced.
2. You won’t be able to live on it in London if you’re sending half to your family back home.
I'm not sure about this but it sounds exciting for you! Good luck with everything!
Is there room to negotiate? Senior band goes higher than that
40k gross would result in you getting about 2600 in hand every month. No way you can send back half home and also live decently inside London on the rest. Also your anticipated spend figures can change wildly based on where you are planning to stay as lower rents may also result in higher local travel costs. It will take you quite some time to find a place to stay that works for your budget. Food you can save on with bringing in home cooked meals.
Do you know where the office is? How many days will you be expected to go in every week? Are they also giving you a relocation package that covers some of your expenses / initial accommodations?
That is not enough money. Is this an entry level position?? Senior my ass

Unless the company is paying for rent, no way you can live on 40k alone and send money back home. Rent for a one bedroom is like minimum 2000 per month. Unless you want to live in a shared housing with students, and even then you’ll still spend half your net pay in rent.
