Exactly this!! At same situation.
They just never tell you anything. Being nice on front but cuts you behind your back.
All you managers, why do you do this?? Why so selfish?
Your career matters but what about your EACH team members?
In this company - everything is possible!!! One just had to be an important cog in the wheel. Trust me - no manager wants to let well or even average staff go- too much hassles, and replacement hire approvals can be tricky these days.
At the same time, if a manager is looking a way out with a staff, or they believe they won't leave - why should they care.
It's a plain simple and honest logic of demand supply and allocation of resource problem.
Yeah loyalty backfires!
Not a manager but that is possible if you are on very good terms with your manager. Other quick way is to get an offer from other org and get it matched here
