Any recos for a home improvement attorney?

We had hired a contractor to fix a leaky ceiling. The contractor completed mitigation (paid by insurance) + rebuild (insurance did not pay) of the space.
When I saw the final invoice, they have highly inflated the invoice in hopes of getting it claimed by the insurance. Now that we are paying for rebuild out of pocket, I questioned them for the inflated amounts. The contractor hired a collection agency to get this amount from us.
Need help with this!

My ex is oppose to my family member staying in the same house and decided to serve a notice to vacancy. However, I live in CA (community property state), and both of our names are on the title. Does my ex have any legal grounds to take such action to evict my visiting family member?
