Any thoughts on BMW iX? As FP&A (smart with money) person if you enjoy driving nice and a good horsepower - what kind of car you'll pick? TY

I'm looking to buy the used iX but i'm afraid i'm gonna lose so much value on the car next four years.

It's a BMW, it doesn't retain value or run very long.

Buy used vehicle 1-4 years old. Look for something that’s low mileage and still under warranty. Also look at the maintenance history on carfax.

Don’t try BMW i4. I have an i4 M50. The design is weird. The sunroof window and rear windows can’t be fully opened. The computer system is also a mess.

Not a very smart financial decision tbh. I think you responded to yourself in your second paragraph :)

Hahaha we really are all the same, my colleague who’s in public relations had crashed her ford and was like I want a BMW and end up spending $35k on a 10+ year old x5 with high mileage. I’m like girl you can’t trust the car is going to run well. I find it silly sometimes how much let shiny things distract us from the value. But if you have no kids and/or have plenty of money to waste wtf not! yOLo lol

Considering joining a small 50-person company as the only attorney (prior attorney is retiring). (I am currently in-house at a F50). For others who have done the same path, what surprises did you have when moving from a large company to a small one?

For example, it sounds like I should not expect a document management system, based on a prior post in this bowl. I’m guessing expenses like state bar fees and cell phone are not reimbursed.

Any advice on things to expect (or not expect)?

Anyone deal with this before: I inherited a severely under developed team including a sr analyst who clearly was doing the bare minimum, if that. Over the last 6 months I have had to coach him and correct simple mistakes in his work and recently it got so bad that I told him he would receive a low rating in his evaluation. He lashed out, involved HR saying he doesn’t understand why, and now my review points out stuff that I would have let slide.
