I am a 10 yr lawyer. 7 yrs in my practice area. Little over a year at current firm. Still an associate. Im at large plaintiff firm w/ billable requirements. I do mass/class cases and hold a couple leadership positions (these were competitive to get). What should salary be and when should I make partner. I’ll add I work remote and pretty autonomously. Little contact with partners or anyone at my firm.

Is it bad to apply to a job at a client you’re already working for as a contractor with your current employer? Different department/area than the one I want to apply...

Is there an app to target specific houses or streets for when they go on market?

There are certain houses located along certain portions of some roads that I don't drive by regularly. But I would love to know if any of them ever go on the market.

I was thinking it would be great to have a Google maps like app that you could browse and select a bunch of houses and eventually get a notification if any of them ever go on the market.

Or, is there any other low effort way of doing this?

I took my first Data Science job in a very small company and I had no idea what the job should be like because this was my first.

I ended up doing software design and other engineering tasks during years, not a lot of research or data crunching.

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. Is moving from Senior Consultant title to Product Manager title a lateral / backwards move? Job description for PM role says 2-5 years experience, yet I have 5.5 in consulting (albeit not in a product environment). I want to work more with technology so I am looking forward to PM role, but not sure how it will be viewed from the outside as I look to grow my career down the line.

I’m a data engineer/engineering manager by trade and massively screwed up by going into MBB consulting, I absolutely despise it and am looking to leave about 8 months in. I have a great offer from a fortune 50 for product management in tech at a similar salary, way more RSU’s but can’t shake off the thought that I wouldn’t be an engineer anymore. Any advice from you guys to help get past my anxiety and just pull the trigger?
