Book via chase travel. Points are worth like 1.5x more if I remember correctly.

like

Depends. There are times when transferring can get you a better value than 1.5 cents/point

like

Yep it's researching and finding the good deals. Re:SWA, The amount of points needed to get a southwest flight varies by the dollar price of the same ticket, and comes out to approx. the same 1.5 cents per point ... so if booking SW it might be better to buy through Chase, because I think you would get to earn SW miles while you're at it

like

You are most likely going to get more value if you transfer, probably to southwest or united. But again, it's very close sometimes. Business class is definitely good through points as opposed to chase travel. Do your research and book it. Checkout thepointsguy.com and you will likely find lot of similar information.

To an airline? Really clueless on how to best utilize these points. Thank you!

like

Gotcha, so book directly on chase. Thought maybe to transfer points or something

Ah ok and that's just a matter of researching

You can also transfer them to southwest which can have a good value per point

Thanks for all the tips friends

Question on travel during H1B lottery-

I am hoping to travel in August for something I have been interested for a while. The H1B lottery company however suggested that I don't travel between April and Oct. Can someone walk me through the possible scenario if I get the lottery in round 1 vs round 2?

If I get it in round 1, good chance I will be able to travel in Aug? (Petition out in Mar/Apr, should be done by Aug?)

If I get it in round 2, is it possible to file the petition in mid Aug?

TIA

First time posting here but… I’m currently a 1st year Tax Analyst making 58,000 plus bonus. I was never informed on how raises work for this company, but it’s the end of the year and there has not been any talk of performance evaluation, which I assumed was when compensation would be covered. This is my first “real” industry job so I’m not too sure. Is it too soon in my career to consider looking else where? The area I live has a pretty height cost of living. (F23)

Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.

TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)

TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)

Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon
