Depends. I don't expect everyone to remember their name, and name dropping people they don't know directly /personally can annoy people. It's the safer route.
I agree with OP. I've been on the same engagement with the same team members for 2 years now and it's weird when they don't use their names.
Yea it depends. My bf has a very common name similar to a few guys in the office. It's just better to not say his name to avoid confusion
You typically default to titles when you're speaking about people outside of what you have in common. So just using a name with a coworker suggest it's a coworker. After two years though, people should know.
Ugh do the same thing myself. I get it right half the time.
I prefer people say my wife or my husband, instead of a first name... it's like yeah great, who is that again? I just don't give a f about coworkers spouses, don't remember their names, annoys the heck out of me when a generic first name is used cause then I have to deduct and conclude who the duck Jane or Zach is... too much self importance is placed by people who assume you should care enough to know the first name of their spouses that you have never even met.
