What are the in house exit opportunities?
Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

Spent 7 years in industry. back in consulting now and glad to be back.
Once a consultant, always a consultant. Corporate life is stifling and easy to get pidgeon holed.
Consulting is much more fun and exciting.
I left consulting less than a year ago but so far can’t imagine going back. It’s so easy to impress people in industry. I left for a ~$25k total comp bump and already got promoted into a new role and got an additional $36k bump. And I work 40 hours a week.
On this project, and most often even as a SA.
D1, I agree with everything you said, except promotions can be harder if it is a long tenure company.
Beware getting wrapped up in the red tape. You'll find making real change can be frustrating company
D1 - Total comp?
$260k expected comp. Max is $310k. Don’t get me wrong there are definitely frustrations that come along with industry that don’t exist in consulting. But in my case the ROI is insanely better and I actually like the work.
That’s great comp - and hey, if you wanted, you could pursue your own entrepreneurial route on the side too (real estate or other) because you have TIME
D1 - What level were you at in Consulting before moving over?
Would you guys have left for a lower salary (-$20K)?
