My wife and I got married in her parents back yard! We had about 20 people attend the actual ceremony then rented out our favorite restaurant for the reception that we invited about 100 people for which we had finger foods and an open bar.
Cost about $5k total.
Go do something chill at the National Arboretum or your favorite Memorial. Outdoors, informal. One of my favorite weddings ever was a barefoot beachside wedding in a state park, and then eating on picnic tables.
Would have to be very small. Cut costs on flowers, decorations, food, alcohol. Lots of DIY. Our photographer alone was $4-5k
I eloped at Holladay House Bed & Breakfast in Orange, VA for less than $2k. They allow very small weddings and it’s absolutely wonderful.
Yes. Used a military chapel and event center on base.
On base is a great idea because it’s tax free and often times the Officer’s Club will pay your vendors to save on taxes for those services too. Check out Fort Meyer and Fort Belvoir.

George Washington Masonic National Memorial. A little over 15k. 100 guest. We had our wedding and reception there. Beautiful historic building. Great parking and close to metro. Also paid extra for guest to go up to the tower. Our guest were impressed.

So many variables. How many people? Alcohol? Are you including photo and video into the price? What about the wedding bands?
I've had friends that pulled it off but they had to be very creative with the venue.
Thanks guys. Particularly seeking help to find a cheap venue to start because I already know the photographer we ideally want is crazy expensive.
Also, trying to be resourceful and potentially use bouquets as center pieces or combine name cards with favors etc.

Lol I just gave a couple examples of things I was already planning on cutting and clearly the “etc” was overlooked.
Again, I welcome the advice but don’t need the projected negative energy. Many have simply given great ideas that I can use to make this work.
