McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.
So help me god through this sickness

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
EY, I got my Roth IRA contributions set to max (30%). Does Fidelity automatically lower the % and stop contributions afterwards once I reach my 2022 limit?
Also at Deloitte, I had a couple thousand contributed in the beginning of the year. Does EY's 401k keep track of that as well towards the limit?

Have a friend who works there. They have a similar model as slalom with virtually no travel and working within your market.
You become an “owner” of the business at a certain level and are required to sell work but when you sell you get percentages of the sale and I believe it’s uncapped. Pretty cool model. Made it to the final round with them myself and they just wanted someone with a little more experience
And if I remember correctly, they promote after 2-3 years at every position. So you can get pretty high up pretty quickly
Rising Star
Interview process is lengthy and repetitive. They get a reputation as being cultish.
Financial upside is decent but expect lots of individual work, which could be either a pro or con
I’ve looked into them before and found many 5 star reviews that generically rave about the culture but don’t get into specifics of the staffing model, types of projects, what the culture entails, etc. I also saw a smaller number of more detailed reviews. These tended to be less positive.
I work in the Phoenix office and it’s pretty awful. The company was pretty good when I started over a decade ago but the ‘new’ CEO just wants to scale, so all the incentives are now based fully on sales and “management discretion”… which ends up being pure favoritism. While the company had good values, recent changes have eroded trust and you can no longer expect to be appreciated unless you deliver sales on top of interviewing and office admin tasks in addition to delivery. There are 3 or so people in each office that own almost all the equity and the company is too cheap to hire for basic admin roles, they just expect the consultants to chip in “on personal time.”
