I would reach out to Poshmark to ask. They may need to escalate to their Legal Department.
If they were just old clothes that you were trying to get rid of I don't think there would be any issue. If you were running a business flipping them then it could be an issue.
I’m not sure what you are asking, however you only made $600. That does not push you into a new tax bracket. You must file that form with your income taxes to show you collected money for services.
Thank you I didn’t have my coffee yet. Now I get it.
Not all online sales are taxable, whether you receive a tax form or not. If you are just selling your own used items, it’s probably not taxable.
New law went into effect this year. You do have to report this on your taxes. I don’t do this too much (only to get rid of old clothes) but I did hit $600 last month and you can’t sell any more items until you give your SSN. I don’t know how it affects you based on your immigration status though. I’d ask an accountant.
Thanks. Awaiting my accountant’s response.
I don’t think it’s that bad. If you can't have a SSN because of your immigration status, you can get an ITIN. It's essentially the same thing when it comes to taxes. You should be able to issue the form.
The IRS doesn't care about your legal status, they only care about their cut of your income.
