Are legal job descriptions asking for too much? I keep seeing postings that want one person to be a specialist, a generalist, and a business partner all at once, are these real expectations, or just wish lists that get trimmed later?

Descriptions are usually wish lists for the perfect candidate. If you have at least some of the experience, it’s worth applying.

I was thinking about the same

You can always ask for a more clearly defined job position as you get farther along in the interview process. I've done that before, bringing up the fact that they are basically looking for several different positions in one person. Sometimes the human resources people don't even realize it and will seek clarification about the role.

That is a great perspective and I was wondering the same that the HR people might not know about that they have put too much in a role

HCL Technologies offer being delayed and recruiter keeps saying that there's a problem with their "Offer release portal system." I have already stated my issues with relocating until after I have the offer signed and ready. The project is supposed to start on the 19th and I'm supposed to join before, or on that date. It's already coming up soon and I don't have the official offer so that I can confidently start the relocation process. Has anyone else recently dealt with this?

Has anyone moved away from NY and successfully resigned from the NY bar? What are the consequences if you just don’t pay? The requirements are insane to officially “resign” - draft a motion, pay a fee, send proof of service - I honestly do not know what this nonsense means, I’m not a litigator for a reason. Is there someone I can pay to do it? Should I just pay the $375 to stay active to avoid this nightmare?

I am looking for a new job at the end of a long career. I have excellent experience in IP and Supply Chain Management. I've been fortunate to be in a high-paying position in the Los Angeles area and I rarely see comparable positions posted.
