10 months in a new global brand side role,former agency of 15 years. Really struggling to find my footing. Projects are slow, no direction from leadership, everyone wants to outsource vs do the work, and challenging times trying to be at the right conversation bc either forgotten or just not included and should be. Feeling like this isn’t for me and just wasting my time with nothing to add to my resume. Is this normal on brand side or do I need to refocus to be more successful?

I hate posting this, but I’m close to the point of desperation. After 2 decades of serving the community, our lil’ Imaging center closed it’s doors without notice, leaving me Unemployed. I’ve applied to a host of Medical (and non-medical) jobs for months and nothing but denials and my Unemployment is about to end within a month.

How do you deal with toxic Asians with a superiority complex that constantly "other" and insult you as "white"?

I'm definitely 2nd Gen/ABC, so not the most culturally Asian. That being said, still celebrate key holidays so it's annoying and borderline bigoted when some tells me I'm "not Asian" and "white." My parents chose to raise me more American so I fit in, so to be insulted over something I didn't "choose" gets annoying.

I am 7 years out in a transactional practice (real estate) and have an opportunity to move in house at a regionally respected company from a midsize firm. I have WFH flexibility at my current firm but bill about 1850-1900 per year. It would be about a 25% paycut. I have also been offered partnership starting in 2022 if I stay - not entirely clear what that long term structure looks like (would have to develop a partially independent book in next 3-5 years). Am I crazy if I leave?

For a writing sample: Is it better to use a motion that you won, or a motion that may reflect better writing/analysis, but that you lost? Does your answer change if the winning motion is more recent than the losing one?

A recruiter contacted me for a position I love. She says I’m a good match and will put my resume and cover letter into the “portal”….-What does that mean? Is a portal the same thing as if I applied online myself? I always imagined recruiters have personal relationships with hiring managers. So I was surprised to hear about an online submission portal.

Can any legal recruiters give advice to a new recruiter? How long did it take to make first placement? A lot of people I talk to are super friendly even if they aren’t interested. I also find a fair number of attorneys who are much less friendly. I’ve got a pretty tough skin but still find it hard when someone is super rude or antagonistic.
