I have hope. A huge contingency of people -leaders included- hate RTO. New agencies and ways of working will have to crop up. And the real test is if those agencies make it big, attract good people and keep operating with a better model. Remote needs to be fully reframed as a smarter, more efficient, inclusive way of working, not a way to hide behind a computer and take an afternoon shower. (Think these perceptions and the loud ones that are lazy are ruining it for everyone).
Quality Meats is fully remote. Seem to be doing well creatively and growth wise. I think they’re close to 20 people now from two a few years ago. Hoping they keep going to show the RTO holding company agencies how it can be done much better.
I work at fully remote agency where I have to turn my camera on maybe once every three weeks. It’s heavennnnn.
The answer you’re looking for is yes.
But the real one is no, we’re not.
Companies are looking to eliminate remote work not expanded it much less go all-in on it. They’re all threatening people with come back or else. Not really giving off the remote is making a company vibes.
