My sense of purpose has nothing to do with my job. Zero.
Maximizing shareholder value by being a loyal brand steward in a fast-moving, ever-changing media landscape. Also, AI.
You must not be an ordinary agency
Trying to start my own business so I can leave this lifestyle. Literally working to make other people richer. Not fan but I got a plan.
Freedom
To support a brand's mission and communicate things clearly to its audiences, or contribute to their personal fulfillment through its messages.
Ideally, I'd work for brands that can deliver good to people, society, and the world. Good can come in many shapes, even in for-profit companies. If they have good processes and products, and I can help craft and get them to the right customers who could benefit from the product, then I consider that a win.
In reality, we all know what the issues are. Brands overpromise and generate false needs, operate dishonestly, and their missions are fluff.

I’ve rarely found a higher sense of purpose in my job. Staying within strict brand guidelines doesn’t leave much for spreading my creative wings.
I do donate my talents for non-profit organizations, from time to time.
My sense of purpose is to find peace and balance. You know, happiness. If my job contributes to that more than it detracts from it, then it’s serving its purpose to me.

If you want a job with a higher sense of purpose, join the Peace Corps. If you want to work 50-60 hours a week and not get paid enough, but be able to do something that you’re passionate about, then become a designer.
