As an international student on CPT, I’ve applied to over 500 entry-level accounting jobs and have received mostly rejections.

Back in my home country, I worked as a Chief Accountant for 4 years and even implemented an ERP system — but here, I’m starting fresh and eager to grow in the U.S. accounting field.

Sometimes I wonder if my past experience is holding me back instead of helping.
If anyone has insights or advice — or knows of any opportunities — I’d really appreciate your thoughts.

I’m one of the only attorneys in my Texas firm that had electricity, internet, and water this week. I was warm and comfortable but still could not get any work done because things going on in the outside world are distracting. When I try to work, I feel like I can barely hold a thought in my mind before I get the “wait, what am I doing again?” feeling.
