Sometimes it's really hard to get parents involved at out school, every grade's parents are different. We started doing family nights over the past few years to get parents into the school and then we typically advertise some more opportunities for them to come in which has led to a decent amount of sign ups.

I'm hoping that the family events we have done this summer will at least generate some interest from our incoming students' parents.
With more families having both parents working, it is difficult. If parents take are directly asked, they are more likely to help, rather than just a generic asking for volunteers. It takes leg work, but is worth it if you can get more parents to step in and participate.
When you say "parental involvement" what exactly does that look like? Who? Doing what? When? Where?
If you can't get everything or even most of what you want, what is at the top of your list?

The parental involvement would look like parents showing up for events, volunteering to help, and getting involved in the programs set up to help their children. I think the weekly phone burst that goes out well hel a little bit, but a lot of families don't answer the calls if they are from the school.
